Health changes may force you to change what you hope for.
Lois Ustanko specializes in faith community nursing, a nursing specialty that emphasizes the important relationship the body, mind, and spirit have on health and community. In her role, she is accountable for nurses that bring this ministry to individuals in the hospital, in churches, and in local emergency shelters for the homeless.
Lois has a focused interest in helping individuals who have limited access to care because they lack financial resources, such as the homeless, or because they are confined to their homes, such as the elderly. She is particularly passionate about assisting individuals with defining their values, beliefs, and preferences for the care they receive.
Lois is the regional coordinator for advance care planning for Sanford Health Fargo. She received her nursing degree from the University of North Dakota as well as her Masters of Science Degree with a focus in nursing education.
Although her office is located in Fargo, ND, her reach spans 43 thousand square miles in North Dakota and Minnesota through the forty faith community nurses she supervises across the region.
