Learn how to find peace and confidence with breast cancer.
Donna Dwire, RN, CBCN, has been a nurse navigator since 2011. She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Augustana University in Sioux Falls and is certified as a breast care nurse (CBCN). As a third-generation cancer survivor, she is aware of the impact cancer care and education have on a patient and her family. She has a passion for paying forward the compassionate care she and her mother received while in treatment. Donna understands the emotional and mental role cancer carries and helps provide reassurance, understanding and, if needed, information for behavioral health resources. Donna assists with Sanford’s annual Breast Cancer Survivorship Retreat as well as the yearly Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. She continues to share her knowledge and passion by providing in-service for many educational events in the community and for Sanford staff. Donna spends her free time with her family hiking, biking, painting and sewing.
